Alexander Zimmermman quien en poco tiempo de dejar el optimist se convirtió en uno de los mas importantes protagonistas del campeonato. También se destacaron los brasileros

Los Snipes tuvieron su campeonto en Punta del Este, Uruguay, con mucho nivel y muchos países (CHI, ARG, URU, MEX, BER, COL, USA). Fueron 47 barcos. Los brasileros dominaron en las categorías general y junior con amplia diferencia. En la general dominaron los Paulistas
Wanderley-Chaves (navegantes de Laser Radial), seguidos por los favoritos
Xandi Paradera y
Pedro Tinoco (ambos de 470). Los recientes campeones del Hemisferio 2007 los uruguayos
Defazio-Medici terminaron 4º. Con Regatas irregulares, los mejores Argentinos fueron la dupla
Marcatelli-Bonaventura. Otro de los favoritos fue
Alexander Tinoco BRA que finalizó en 6º lugar. Los mejores de Rosario fueron
Pierson-Rivero en el puesto 16º. Este fue el campeonato mas importante antes del próximos Juegos Panamericanos en Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, el proximo Julio.
